The New York University men’s soccer team defeated The College of Mount Saint Vincent by a score of 3-0.
Both teams came into Marillac Field with the same record on Wednesday. Dolphins were rolling on a winning streak and this was their third home game in five days. NYU decided to crash the party and that’s what they did. It was a scoreless game in the first half until NYUs sophomore David Victor opened the score with a goal. The Dolphins had a few possessions where they could’ve gotten back in the game but NYU’s defense pressured them forcing the Dolphins to take just six shots on goal in the first half. Jose Mendoza, Andrew Gomez, Pablo Tellez and Guy Horcasitas were the only players to take shots on goal for the Dolphins.
By the end of the half, NYU led 1-0. Goalkeeper Grant Engel made two key saves in the first half.
In the second half, NYU pulled away as the Dolphins had no answer for them. Junior player Nic Notaro double the lead for NYU with goals coming in the 68′ and 75′ putting the dagger on the game.
NYU improves to 3-2-1 record. Dolphins drop to 2-3-1.
