Luis Fonsi: Vida Album

“Vida” is one of the most anticipated albums of 2019. The Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi outdid himself in this album. I’m going to discuss the success and some of my favorite tracks from the Vida.

Luis Fonsi music is a blend of many different variations: Latin Pop, Latin Dance, and Reggeaton with instruments such as vocals, piano, and guitar.

I have to start with the most popular single of the album: Despacito. The song “Despacito” is a blend of Reggaeton and Latin pop song. Fonsi collaborated with the King of Reggeaton, Daddy Yankee. The lyrics described as having a sexual relationship and performed smoothly and romantically. “Despacito” was a massive hit. The single received Latin Grammy Awards for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Urban Fusion/Performance, and Best Short Form Music Video at the 18th Latin Grammy Awards.

“Despacito” has also been ranked among the best Latin songs of all-time and the best songs of 2017. It’s one of the most successful Spanish-language tracks in pop music history. The remix version sounds good as well. It features Justin Bieber, and it helped the reputation of the song to its highest standards. The song dominated the charts.

In the music video, Fonsi and Yankee performed the song in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the local bar La Factoría. The featured actress in the video is Puerto Rican model Zuleyka Rivera. She was absolutely a perfect choice for the music video. Her and Fonsi have tremendous chemistry on screen. In August 2017, the video became the most-viewed YouTube video of all time.

“Echame La Culpa” is another excellent song from the Vida album. Great collaboration between Fonsi and the talented singer Demi Lovato. This song followed “Despacito.” I love how Lovato incorporated some Spanish in her lyrics for this song. “Echame La Culpa” reached number one in seventeen countries worldwide.

On YouTube, the video became the third-fastest music video in history to reach 500 million views. The fifth-fastest to reach one billion views, being the fastest collaboration in history to achieve these two milestones.

“Sola” is my favorite song of this album. Such a beautiful romantic song, amazing lyrics with outstanding production. I love the hook. In my opinion, it’s a better song than Despacito. I often play this song two or three times every day. You can dedicate this song to someone you love. There’s an English and Spanish version of this song. I prefer the Spanish one because I feel the meaning of the lyrics sounds stronger with Spanish.
