Anthony Volpe: The Red Hot Short

Anthony Volpe is doing something special that many people should start paying attention to. The 20-year old shortstop out of New Jersey is having an incredible first year in the minors.

Volpe got drafted by the Yankees in the first round in the 2019 MLB Draft. Volpe is on his way to becoming the Yankees’ top prospect. Volpe is batting .305 with 28 home runs and 28 steals. Not bad at all. According to the New York Post, Volpe expressed that he wants to win the High A championship. This kid has an attitude of a winner. He doesn’t only want to get to the big leagues, but he also wants to win. Volpe and the Yankee fan base could be a great marriage because Yankee fans are obsessed with winning. Yankee fans are not easy to please. They want you to give it 110% at all times.

Volpe grew up in Manhattan, and guess who his favorite player was growing up? No other than the captain Derek Jeter. Jeter influenced Volpe to play the shortstop position. Volpe is a high-energy player with power and speed. If this young phenom continues this streak, we might see him in the Bronx sometime next year.
