Welcome to Sunday Sports Shorts! Padres stars Machado and Tatis had a heated confrontation, Clippers will have their own arena, Fresno State upsets UCLA, and New York Rangers have a future leader in Morgan Barron.

San Diego Padres stars Fernando Tatis and Manny Machado got into a heated confrontation in the dugout at Busch Stadium on Saturday night during their 3-2 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. The incident took place during the fifth inning, and Machado can be seen screaming at Tatis in their dugout before teammate Adam Frazier and a coach separated the two.

The Intuit Dome is scheduled to open in time for the 2024-25 season and will break the Clippers away from Staples Center, which they have shared with the Los Angeles Lakers since 1999.

In their first time back on the field since then, the UCLA Bruins were nowhere near as sharp and were upset 40-37 at home Fresno State. One of the surprising defeats of yesterday’s College Football.

Rangers have a future leader in Morgan Barron. The 22-year old is no stranger to being a captain. In college, he served as a tri-captain for Cornell in 2019-20 and led the team in several categories. He was their goal and points leader and helped the team to a 23-2-4 record as they won the ECAC Regular Season Championship.
