Texas took on TCU on Saturday. TCU had won 6 of the last seven meetings against the Texas Longhorns.
The game started with a disqualification. TCU’s TJ Carter got disqualified from the contest for targeting.
In the first half, both teams exchanged points and made the game very competitive. Longhorns had the 23-17 by halftime. Both teams only scored a field goal in the third quarter, but the fourth quarter was a different story.
In the fourth quarter, with less than eight minutes to go, TCU did not show any sense of urgency when they were trailing by two touchdowns with less than eight minutes left to go. TCU burned too much time off the clock. They would go to score a touchdown to cut the deficit to 5, 32-7, but it was too little too late. Longhorns defeated TCU, 32-7.
Texas’ first win at TCU since 2013. The player of the game or game ball belonged to Texas running back Bijan Robinson. He set two career-highs on Saturday afternoon – finishing with 35 carries and 216 yards against TCU. Robinson is one of the best running backs in college football right now. TCU had no answer for Robinson. Longhorns’ next opponent is Oklahoma Sooners.
