The Los Angeles Chargers were in command on Monday night against the Las Vegas Raiders. Chargers defeated the Raiders, 28-14 – giving the Raiders their first loss of the season.

The Chargers’ defense was all over the place on the Raiders running game. Chargers held Raider’s rushing yards to just 48. Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert had a big game – he completed 25 of his 38 passes, threw for 222 yards with three touchdowns. Running back Austin Ekeler had 15 carries, 117 yards, and a touchdown.

The game also had some controversy. Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa ripped into the officiating crew, calling them “blind” following a missed holding call late in the fourth quarter that ultimately led to Bosa being hit with a potentially costly penalty.

“I didn’t even know they called the f—ing penalty on me because I was fuming,” Bosa said. “But, I mean, refs are blind, simple. I’m sorry, but you’re blind, like open your eyes and do your job. It’s so bad it’s unbelievable.”

The Raiders needed to win against the Chargers to prove that they could beat a .500 team. It’s still a long season to see if the Raiders can be a real playoff team. As for the Chargers, offense and defense looked very impressive last night. Chargers could make some noise in the AFC. Aside from the Kansas City Chiefs, the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, and Los Angeles Chargers are outstanding teams that can come out of the AFC.
