Long Island University Sharks traveled to the Bronx to take on the Fordham Rams. The Rams got off to a slow start against the Sharks in the first half, but they were in complete control in the second half.
After a timeout, the Rams went on a 16-3 run to take a 59-44 lead in the second half. Rams took over the game and never looked back. LIU struggled in the second half, going 8-for-21 from the field. The Sharks also struggled from long range, going 6-for-24 from three-point range. Fordham won 73-57.
Rams forward Chuba Ohams had another double-double finishing the game with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and two blocks. At the same time, junior guard Antonio Daye, Jr. added 17 points, five assists, three steals, and graduate student guard Darius Quisenberry finished with 14 points.
The Rams’ bench outscored 20-11 to the Sharks’ bench, and the Rams scored 20 points off turnovers. The Rams are a perfect 3-0 against NEC teams this year.
Graduate student Isaac Kante led the Sharks in the loss with 16 points and seven rebounds. Senior Eral Penn had 13 points and seven rebounds, and three assists.
Fordham will take on the Miami Hurricanes at the Barclays Center as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Invitational on Sunday, December 12. As for the Sharks, they will host Merchant Marine on Monday, December 13.
