Sports Throwback Thursday: 2001 WWF No Way Out

Welcome to Sports Throwback Thursday! The 2001 WWF No Way Out brings back a lot of memories. WWF Championship match between champion Kurt Angle and The Rock, and Three Stage of Hell between Triple H and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

The Rock defeated Kurt Angle to become the WWF champion. Before No Way Out, Kurt Angle defeated The Rock to win the belt at No Mercy, and successfully defended the belt at Armageddon in a six-man Hell in A Cell match.

Triple H and Stone Cold had a fierce rivalry. Triple H was responsible for running over Austin with the car. However, Austin would get his revenge at Survivor Series when he dropped Triple off a forklift. From a visual standpoint, it looked unbelievable. Triple H would win the Three Stages of Hell matchup by taking two out of three.

Single Match: Austin won

Street Fight: Triple H won

Steel Cage: Triple H won

WWE Smackdown Promo – Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair

After winning the Royal Rumble Match, Ronda Rousey comes to SmackDown for the first time ever. Having Ronda in Smackdown is good news for RAW’s rising stars like Bianca Belair.

Rousey came to the ring during this promo, saying she would pick her own opponent for WrestleMania. Rousey noted that Charlotte Flair wasn’t special and was just the first woman before saying she would see Flair at WrestleMania. Flair then said that the SmackDown women’s title is her baby, and it’s prettier than Rousey’s. Deville tried to put a stop to Rousey turning violent, but Rousey shoved her aside. Deville jumped on Rousey’s back only to be thrown on the mat and locked in an armbar as the show went off the air.

I wasn’t too impressed with this promo. It wasn’t a solid conclusion for the Smackdown episode. I like Ronda Rousey, but I would like to see her use more energy when she’s on the mic. I do think that Ronda on Smackdown will be a perfect marriage. I prefer to see Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks at Wrestlemania. Also, it wouldn’t surprise me if WWE makes Ronda Rousey a double champion by winning both Raw and Smackdown’s Women’s championship belts.

Carl Thomas’ 30-point Performance

In last night’s meeting, the Brooklyn Nets lost to the Utah Jazz 102-125. However, the only bright star for the Nets was Carl Thomas.

Thomas had a big night for the Nets with 30 points. The rest of the Brooklyn Nets starting five finished with 28 points. The Nets have been riddled with injuries this season.

The Nets are 2-8 since Kevin Durant’s injury. They have lost 7 in a row.
