Miguel’s Friday Thoughts

Happy Friday! It’s time for Miguel’s Friday Thoughts! I have a couple of things to discuss, from the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard fiasco to Ryan Tannehill to the Minnesota Twins’ early success.

The situation between actor Johnny Depp and Amber Heard continues to worsen daily. Marriage is overrated. Marriage scares me for reasons like this. You know a person’s true colors once divorce comes into play. Marriage used to mean something. Now, it’s a joke, and celebrities are never satisfied. Many of these celebrities get married more than three times, which is blasphemous.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been a lot of criticism since the team’s playoff loss to the Cincinnati Bengals — and he didn’t help himself on Tuesday after saying it wasn’t his job to mentor Tennessee’s 2022 third-round pick, Malik Willis. The whole drama is blown out of proportion; Tannehill did send Malik a text message welcoming him to the team. It’s not his job to mentor Malik Willis.

Tannehill’s comment drew criticism from multiple former NFL players: Ryan Clark, Kurt Warner, etc. It’s silly how people can take one statement and just run with it instead of knowing the full details and carefully considering what he was trying to say. The Titans didn’t even let Tannehill see that they would draft a quarterback.

Another important note, Tannehill was in a dark place where he had to go to therapy. After the Titans lost in the Divisional Round game against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Titans were the No. 1 seed.

The Minnesota Twins are one of the best teams in the American League this season so far. The twins are first in the AL Central, division-leading by 2 1/2 games over the Chicago White Sox. Additions like Carlos Correa and Sonny Gray. Gio Urshela and Gary Sanchez bolstered their lineup and rotation. Center fielder Byron Buxton is looking like an early AL MVP candidate. He’s hitting .284 with eight homers and 16 RBIs. White Sox has been dealing with injuries. Therefore, we will have to wait and see if the White Sox will catch up. Also, we will have to see if the Twins can keep this up and stay healthy. Twins have been an exciting story, and they can pose a threat to the White Sox for the AL Central crown.
