Hendrick Motorsports driver Kyle Larson won the race at Kansas Speedway in a very tight finish. Larson won by 0.001 seconds. It’s the closest finish in NASCAR history.
Larson led 221 of 267 laps. It’s Larson’s third win of the season. Larson ties Christopher Bell for most wins of the 2025 season.
Larson continues to have success in Kansas. He’s one of the best drivers ever to do it. The victory on Sunday marked his 32nd win of the season. He’s tied with Hall of Famer Dale Jarrett for 29th on the all-time list.
Aside from winning the race, Larson reached a career milestone of 10,000 laps. Larson dominated the race. He swept the first two stages and now has 14 career stage sweeps. Larson currently leads the series standings by 35 points.
In an exclusive interview with Kevin Harvick, Larson shared details behind his struggles with the race’s stages. It wasn’t easy for Larson, but he made the right adjustments and emerged victorious.
“The first, two stages, I was kind of struggling at the end just with grip and all that,” Larson said. “I feel like it just when you lead races, especially a mile and a half. So, it just naturally wears your tires out without even trying. In the third stage, I tried to take it much easier throughout the run, with it being a longer run, but I still got to the end.”
The next Cup Series event will be the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 25.
