Chuck Lorre, co-creator and executive producer of the hit show The Big Bang Theory, plans to create a sci-fi spinoff series. HBO Max has ordered the new spinoff series, “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe.”
Kevin Sussman, Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn, and Ross Bowie will star in the new spinoff. Sussman joined The Big Bang Theory in Season 6 and was then promoted to series regular.
The writing for this new spinoff will be something to keep an eye on. Writing a project with a blend of comedy and science sounds exciting and challenging at the same time. The showrunners must be thrilled to put this project together, and they believe they can knock it out of the ballpark.
The Big Bang Theory ran for 12 seasons and filmed 279 episodes. Throughout its run, the sitcom received 55 Primetime Emmy Awards nominations (10 of which it won) and seven Golden Globe nominations (one of which it won).
