Dallas Cowboys left tackle Tyler Guyton will be out for 4-6 weeks after he suffered a bone fracture at training camp on Monday.

The upside to the news of this injury is that Guyton won’t need surgery. There were fears of a possible torn ACL, but the MRI revealed the fracture.

Guyton had an impressive rookie season. The Cowboys are hoping that his sophomore season can eclipse year one. Guyton has made some changes to his body, including going on a strict diet. Therefore, those are some positive outcomes to look out for.

In the meantime, the Cowboys will have to take a chance on players like Nathan Thomas, Hakeen Adeniji, and Asim Richards to fill in the void while Guyton recovers.

The Cowboys selected Guyton with their first-round pick (No. 29 overall) in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma.

Guyton was tremendous during his time in Oklahoma. He was pure talent, competitive, and a hard worker. In his rookie season with the Cowboys, he played in 15 games, including 11 starts at left tackle.

The Cowboys will begin their season against the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 4. The game is scheduled for a Thursday night season kickoff.

The Dilemma Increases with CTE

The 27-year-old Shane Devon Tamura from Las Vegas did the unthinkable and shot several people in New York. The attack took place at 345 Park Avenue. Four people were reported dead, including the gynman himself, who supposedly suffered a case of CTE.

Local TV footage showed lines of people evacuating the office building with their hands above their heads. Officer Didaru Islam, 36, was the first person to get shot. He was a father of two and left a wife behind.

There have been many former football players who have suffered from head injuries during their playing careers. CTE causes behavior changes. Tamura used to play football in high school. He left a note at the scene saying that he wants someone to study his brain for CTE.
