It’s a brand new year. Without movies, our lives would be pretty dull. Every new year, we look forward to the film that will be released either in theaters or on streaming services.
For the most part, we will be checking out some of the most anticipated movies of 2026 in the theaters. There are so many movies to look forward to watching. However, we will narrow down to at least the five most anticipated films to check out in 2026.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (April 3)
For those of us who grew up playing Mario games, this movie is a must-watch for the fans. The new film is the sequel to the 2023 film The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Illumination and Nintendo produce it. Matthew Fogel wrote the screenplay. Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic will team up again to direct the picture.
Chris Pratt will voice Mario. Anya-Taylor Joy will voice Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, and Jack Black as Bowser. The rest of the cast features Brie Larson, Benny Safdie, and Keegan-Michael Key.
Michael (April 24)
The King of Pop! The movie must do its Justice. Enough said!
Toy Story 5 (June 19)
One of the most incredible film series of all time and the best in the animation genre. The journey of Toy Story began in 1995, and every film has been a masterpiece. The fifth installment must be great as well.
Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will return as Woody and Buzz. The rest of the cast features Anna Faris, Ernie Hudson, and Joan Cusack. Andrew Stanton will direct the fifth movie. Sometimes doing too many movies of a film series is not a great idea, but with Toy Story, it seems and feels different. Hopefully, the fifth one becomes the final stop. However, box office results might change people’s minds.
The Social Reckoning (Oct 9)
The Social Network was one of the best films of 2010. David Fincher did an incredible job directing that movie. Aaron Sorkin, one of Hollywood’s best screenwriters, wrote a magnificent script that earned him an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
It’s been 15 years since the movie came out, and now we are curious to see how Sorkin will write the sequel. He’s also the co-producer and will direct the film. The story follows Frances Haugen, a young Facebook engineer, who enlisted the help of Jeff Horwitz, a Wall Street Journal reporter, to blow the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets.
Jeremy Allen Whire, Mikey Madison, Jeremy Strong, and Betty Gilpin have joined the cast. Sorkin hasn’t let us down, and he’s not going to start now. We can’t wait to see this one next Fall.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ (Dec 18)
The return of an Avengers movie will have huge box-office success. We can see it and feel it already. The Avengers are one of Marvel Studios’ darlings.
The cast is filled with stars as usual. Anthony and Joe Russo will be co-directors. We have been waiting for another Avengers movie since Endgame, which came out in 2019. It’s going to be a December to remember for Marvek and Avengers fans.
