The Super Mario Galaxy Movie continues to dominate at the box office, reaching to $629 million globally.
Project Hail Mary had the belt at the box office. Now, after 12 days of being shown in the movie theaters, Super Mario Galaxy surpasses Project Hail Mary. It is astonishing what the Mario movie is doing, but at the same time, it’s no surprise. The Mario game is the most recognizable video game on the planet.
The success of the Mario video game is self-explanatory; it has grossed $308 million domestically. And now we have the movie that’s the year’s highest-grossing film. It’s going to be extremely tough to have another movie to beat Mario this year. The film will definitely get some nominations somewhere down the line due to its box-office and cinematic accomplishments.
“You, Me and Tuscany” finished this weekend in fourth place at the box office. The film grossed $9.1 million worldwide. The film has received mixed reviews from critics. It’s a rom-com starring Halle Bailey and Rege-Jean Page. Will Packer served as co-producer. Packer is known for producing a variety of successful rom-com movies, such as the Think Like a Man film series, The Wedding Ringer, and Girls Trip.
As for this new movie, when it’s about culinary and Italy, it’s due to succeed. Plus, it’s a rom-com. The film still has a chance to make more money at the box office. The film was made on an $18 budget. Kat Coiro served as the director. Known mostly for directing TV shows such as Modern Family, Shameless, Matlock, Dead To Me, and many more, Coiro made her fifth feature film with this new project. You, Me, and Tuscany got a score of a 68% on Rotten Tomatoes.
A24’s dark comedy “The Drama” came in third place at the box office. The movie starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson made $65 million worldwide.
