Purdue Boilermakers and Minnesota Gophers will start a three-game weekend series on Friday at 6 p.m. at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The Gophers and Boilermakers have faced each other 18 times since 2016. The Gophers lead the all-time series 10-8. In their previous matchup, on April 9th, 2023, the Gophers won 9-3.

The Purdue Boilermakers are having a stellar season so far. They’re 12-1, and two key players responsible for their success are Logan Sutter and Carter Doorn.

Sutter, a senior, has been their best hitter on the plate. He is batting .511 with a .956 slugging percentage. His impact in the lineup has been huge for this program, and as long as he stays hot, this program will go far.

Doorn, another senior for the Boilermakers, is having fun on the mound. He’s leading the pitching staff with a 2-0 record through 14 pitched innings.

Gophers’ Drew Berkland is a terrific athlete. The Boilermakers must keep an eye on this young stud. The Gophers have slugged 20 home runs through the season’s first ten games. Berkland is responsible for hitting six home runs and leads the team in that category.

Berkland is currently in his junior season at Minnesota. In his Sophomore season, he received All-Big Ten honors. Before his college career, Berkland played three sports: Baseball, Basketball, and Football.

The Gophers are 5-5 this season, but this team is not lousy. They have a good offense. It’s going to be a fun series to watch between both programs.
