Actress Kristen Dunst has been in the Hollywood industry for as long as we can remember. She’s been there since she was a kid.
The 43-year-old has come a long way as an artist. We remember when she starred in Interview with the Vampire alongside Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. She was only 12.
However, her career as a performer didn’t take off to an elite level until 2015, when she appeared in Season 2 of Fargo. Dunst earned her first Primetime Emmy award for her role as Peggy Blumquist.
After Fargo, she has received several impeccable scripts and gone on to appear in projects such as Hidden Figures, On Becoming a God in Central Florida, and The Power of the Dog, for which she received an Oscar nomination for Supporting Actress.
Dunst is currently starring in a new comedy-crime film alongside Channing Tatum, titled Roofman. Roofman had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, but Paramount Pictures and Miramax will release it in theaters worldwide on October 10.
Kirsten Dunst joined NBC’s TODAY show to talk about the movie that follows the true story of a man who escaped from prison and spent six months hiding out in Toys R Us.
Dunst shared her thoughts on reading the script for Roofman.
“I love the Director Derek Cianfrance,” Dunst said. “He’s so amazing with actors, and he loves bringing the real people into our films. So the guy who picks up Channing, unbeknownst to him, from jail is the actual guy who drove Jeffrey out of jail.”
Cianfrance also serves as the co-writer of the script. He wrote it with Kirt Gunn. Cianfrance has earned an Oscar nomination for original screenplay for his work in The Sound of Metal. He also wrote and directed one of the best independent films of the last twenty years, Blue Valentine, starring Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling.
