The New York Yankees are having a rough stretch lately. The Yankees were one of the hottest teams to start the season, and now trail the AL East by three games behind the red-hot Toronto Blue Jays.

The Yankees have lost the first two games against the Mets at Citi Field this weekend, making it six consecutive losses. Will the Yankees avoid getting swept again?

The Yankees were swept by the Blue Jays on the road in a four-game series for the first time since 2016. The last time the Mets swept the Yankees was back in 2013. The Mets are on a four-game winning streak. The Mets’ offense has been a lightning Rod. Meanwhile, the Yankees’ pitching has been out of sync.

A spark will be needed for the pinstripes. They will focus on their best pitcher, Max Fried, who has a 10-2 record with a 2.13 ERA. Fried is having one of the best seasons of his career. If there’s anyone who can help the Yankees stop the bleeding, it will start with Fried.

The Yankees are 48-41 this season. The momentum of their season can change with a win tonight and close out the first half of the season on a high note. It’s the final matchup of this year’s Subway Series.
