Former NBA player Dennis Rodman will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 17th, 2026.
Rodman will become a two-time Hall of Famer. Rodman was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011. Rodman was known by nicknames such as “Rodzilla” and “The Worm.” He spent 14 NBA seasons with the Detroit Pistons, San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, and Dallas Mavericks from 1986 to 2000.
One moment during Rodman’s career came during the 1998 NBA Finals, when he skipped practice to appear in a wrestling match with Hulk Hogan. Most people learned about Rodman skipping practice after it was documented in “The Last Dance” docuseries. Some people think that Rodman lowkey invested in load management.
As great as it is that Rodman received this honor to get inducted, it’s somewhat bittersweet because, unfortunately, Hogan won’t be able to see Rodman get inducted since Hogan passed away recently. It would’ve been a great moment between those men. Hogan gave his life to Christ, so there’s also the possibility that he wouldn’t have participated. We will never know because Hogan is not around. Scott Hall is also not around because he passed away as well.
WCW dominated the scene during the mid to late 1990s due to the popularity of the NWO, whose key members were Kevin Nash, Hall, and Hogan. When Rodman joined NWO, the group grew much larger and became more entertaining to watch. Rodman wrestled in a couple of pay-per-view tag matches and got to work with the late wrestler Randy Savage.
Rodman impacted the game of basketball with his first-mentality defense and rebounding, and for a short period of time, he made an impact in wrestling as well. Rodman is a five-time world champion and a two-time Defensive Player of the Year.
