The 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards nominations have been released. HBO hit drama series ‘The Pitt’ leads the nominations in the television department with 25 nominations. HBO Max has the most nominations out of all streaming platforms with 122 nominations. Netflix is second behind them with 111.
The nominations for Outstanding Drama Series are the following:
- “The Diplomat”
- “The Gilded Age”
- “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”
- “Paradise”
- “The Pitt”
- “Slow Horses”
- “Your Friends & Neighbors”
Hacks is in the final stages of ending its show. They have been one of the most critically acclaimed sitcoms of the 2020s. Hacks leads the comedy department with 24 nominations. The sitcom made history because it holds the record for most nominations in a single season for a comedy. The rest of the nominees for Outstanding Comedy Series are the following:
- “Abbott Elementary”
- “The Bear”
- “Margo’s Got Money Troubles”
- “Nobody Wants This”
- “Only Murders in the Building”
- “Shrinking”
- “Widow’s Bay”
- “Hacks”
Apple TV didn’t stay behind. One of their shows, “Widow’s Bay,” earned 19 nominations. The series is a comedy-horror show starring Matthew Rhys. Widow’s Bay has the third-highest nominations entering the award show. In terms of Outstanding Limited Series, here are the nominees:
- “All Her Fault”
- “The Beast In Me”
- “Beef”
- “DTF St. Louis”
- “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette”
Carrie Coon as Bertha Russell, Chase Infiniti as Agnes, Keri Russell as Kate Wyler, Rhea Seehorn as Carol Sturka, and Zendaya as Rue receive nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
Sterling K. Brown as Xavier Collins, Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, Mark Ruffalo as Tom Brandis, Rufus Sewell as Hal Wyler, and reigning Emmy winner Noah Wyle as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch all receive nominations for Outstanding Male Actor in a Drama Series.
Director and actor Rob Reiner, who is no longer with us, received a posthumous Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor for his role in ‘The Bear.’ Five actresses from Hacks were nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series (Leslie Bibb, Cherry Jones, Laurie Metcalf, Kaitlin Olson, and Lauren Weedman)
“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” star Mariska Hargitay will be the main host of the award show. The Emmys will air live on Monday, September 14 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC, streaming on Peacock.
