Linebacker Von Miller will be joining the Dallas Cowboys on a 1-year deal to return to his 15th NFL season.
Miller was born and raised in the Dallas area. Joining the Cowboys is a dream come true for him. The Cowboys will be his fifth NFL team. Miller played for the Broncos, Bills, Rams and Washington. Miller recorded nine sacks last season.
The eight-time Pro Bowl player went to Texas A&M and is now headed to play for America’s team. He’s coming to “Jerry’s World.” Miller can’t wait to start working with the Cowboys. He’s determined to help the defense become one of the best in the upcoming season.
Miller earned Super 50 MVP honors for his performance against the Carolina Panthers. DeMarcus Ware, who was Miller’s teammate in Denver, will reunite with him in Dallas. The two veterans will bring their leadership and experience to the locker room and the huddle on defense.
The Cowboys have a lot of young players in the linebacker depth. Miller’s presence will be massive for the young guys. Every team needs a mentor. At this stage of his career, Miller is not trying to take anyone’s spotlight. Miller is all about contributing, handling his business, and giving words of wisdom. Throughout his career, he’s been a great player and teammate.
The 37-year-old must try to stay healthy this season. Miller has battled major injuries. Miller tore his ACL on his right knee twice. The first came in Dec 2013, and the second in Nov 2022. In Nov 2020, Miller dislocated his peroneal tendon in his left ankle.
One thing we could say about Miller is that he doesn’t stop. Miller finds a way to get back on the field. He won’t let injuries get the best of him. Miller is a rare breed. The Cowboys got themselves a big personality player. The Cowboys finished 7-9-1 last season. Can Miller help the team reach 10 wins?
The Cowboys will start the 2026 campaign on the road against division rival the New York Giants on Sep 13th in an NBC primetime game at 8:20 pm ET.
