One of the most exciting and important things to do in life is to make a bucket list. I have a bucket list of places that I want to travel to before I make my journey to heaven (whenever that will be), but I hope I get to live a long life. The 2007 movie ‘The Bucket List’ is a Comedy/Drama movie starring two of the greatest actors of all time, Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. Anything with Morgan Freeman is a must-see TV for me. This movie is one of the most fun and uplifting films of 2007. Rob Reiner directed this movie and he collaborated with Jack Nicholson for the second time. They previously worked together in A Few Good Men – one of my all-time favorite Jack Nicholson movies.
Jack Nicholson portrays the character of Edward. His character is a man who’s a businessman and a multimillionaire. Morgan Freeman portrays the character of Carter. A man who is a mechanic. Two men who are different became close when both men met for the first time in the hospital. Both of them have terminal cancer. Therefore, they decide to create a bucket list and make incredible memories of experiences together before it’s too late.
Jack and Morgan have outstanding chemistry in this movie. It didn’t feel like they were acting. They didn’t try to outshine each other. A lot of mutual respect and harmony between both men. This movie will make you emotional especially if you’re a person who has a heart and is sensitive. A film that’s very thought-provoking alongside the performances and location setting kept me on my toes to watch this movie. It was a joy to watch this movie and it took me almost 17 years to watch it for the first time. Thanks to YouTube for putting it up for free.
The Bucket List is not everyone’s favorite cup of tea. It’s not the greatest film of the year, but it’s a good one filled with heartwarming moments. Despite the hardcore criticism, the film did very well at the box office. The Bucket List opened at #1 in the United States and grossed $175.4 million worldwide.
My grade for The Bucket List is 3.9 out of 5 stars.
