Bo Nix is an experienced quarterback. He played for five years in college for the Auburn Tigers and Oregon Ducks. Nix will be joining quarterbacks Zach Wilson and Jarrett Stidham in a three-man quarterback battle for the starting position. Preseason will be interesting to see these three guys compete to see who will start the season as the main quarterback. If I had to put my money on one of these three, it would be Bo Nix. He will have something to prove and he won’t be waiting on the sidelines.
Nix was selected as the 12th overall pick by the Denver Broncos. I believe that Nix is the future for the starting position for the Broncos organization. His college experience prepared him for this moment. In his final season with Oregon, he posted career-highs by leading Oregon to a 12-2 record, threw for over 4,000 yards, 45 touchdowns, and only 3 interceptions. His performances earned him a Big-12 Offensive Player of the Year honors and finished third in the Heisman Trophy. He’s entering the NFL with a lot of momentum.
If the Broncos had a veteran quarterback, then Bo Nix would’ve had to sit and wait and learn from the veteran. I don’t see anything wrong with that. However, given the fact that he’s 24 years old and played five years in college, I don’t think you should make him wait any longer. Nix looks hungry and ready to get to work. Nix needs to have success in Denver. The city is starving for an elite quarterback. Nix needs to follow in the footsteps of John Elway and Peyton Manning.
Nix signed his four-year rookie contract, worth $18.6 million fully guaranteed. He should take advantage of every opportunity in each of those four years he will be with the team. Durability and Work Ethic are a must.
