What a win! What a finish! South Carolina Gamecocks defeated No. 12 Clemson Tigers 17-14.
Gamecocks quarterback LaNorris Sellers scored the game-winning touchdown when he ran for 20 yards with 1:08 left to play. Norris put the team on his back.
He had two substantial touchdown runs in the game. Sellers finished with 13 of 21 for 164 pass yards.
Sellers should be considered for the Heisman Trophy, at least for next season. He’s been huge for this team lately.
Before the Clemson game, Sellers combined eight touchdowns for over 600 pass yards in the last two games.
Sellers is Superman for South Carolina. Unbelievable talent and fearless leader.
Gamecocks’ run game dominated the line scrimmage against the Tigers’ rush defense. The Gamecocks did an excellent job.
The Gamecocks won their sixth straight game, four of which came against ranked opponents. The committee must put this team in the playoffs. They’re well-coached and have great players who are wired differently.
After Miami lost to Syracuse, the Clemson Tigers qualified for the ACC title game against SMU on December 7.
Gamecocks coach Shane Beamer was emotional after the game.
“To overcome some of the stuff that we had to overcome, so much of it, self-inflicted,” Beamer said. “To find a way to win at the end is special. Before we came here, we discussed that we needed to have each other’s backs. The offense picks up the defense when something happens, and the defense picks up the offense. They pick up special teams; we had much of that today.”
Beamer is the future of this Gameoccks team. He’s one of those coaches that players would want to play for.
Beamer is a man who brings confidence and believes in his team to get the job done. He seems like a coach with an outstanding personality and a great attitude.
The Gamecocks awaits the playoff selection committee’s decision on Dec 8th.
