FSU Seminoles Rally to Defeat Jacksonville Dolphins 11-10

Florida State Seminoles overcomes a 5-0 deficit to beat Jacksonville Dolphins 11-10 on Tuesday night.

With the victory, Florida State improves to 137-42 all-time against Jacksonville. The Seminoles have won six in a row in the in-state series and are now 24-4 in the season. The Dolphins fall to 16-12.

The Dolphins jumped early, scoring five runs in the first inning. Dolphins took advantage of scoring in ground balls and wild pitches. Senior Aidan Masters belted a three-run home run. Masters finished the game going 2-for-4 with four RBIs.

Junior center field Max Williams smoked a two-run home run to right field to put the Seminoles on the board in the bottom of the first inning. Williams hit two home runs in this game. He ended the night going 2-for-5 with two hits and 3 RBIs.

Gage Harrison added two hits for the Seminoles. Myles Bailey added three hits with an RBI. The Seminoles scored four runs in the second inning and three in the fourth.

Dolphins catcher Carson Stevens made the game enjoyable in the top of the 9th inning when he delivered a two-run double to cut the deficit to 11-10. Seminoles reliever Ben Barrett ended the Dolphin’s hopes to send the game to the extra inning as he finished the game with a strikeout. Barrett earned his second save of the season.

Dolphins and Seminoles each had 12 strikeouts. Joe Charles won the Seminoles. Kyle Powers is the losing pitcher.

The Seminoles will host Wake Forest from April 4-6 to continue their home game stand. It should be a fascinating ACC matchup. The Dolphins will hit the road this weekend to face off against FGCU.
