Director and writer Judd Apatow and actor Glen Powell co-wrote a new comedy film together. There’s no title to the film yet. Cristin Milioti and Madelyn Cline join the cast.
Apatow is best known for films such as The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Trainwreck, and King of Staten Island. Judd will produce the new movie through his production company, Apatow Productions. He founded the company in 1999. He has frequently collaborated with Jason Segel, Seth Rogen, etc.
Powell will play a country-western star. He continues to work and write his projects. Aside from writing this new movie, he’s the co-creator, producer, and lead actor of the Hulu comedy series, Chad Powers. It’s a sports comedy series inspired by a skit from former quarterback Eli Manning.
Milioti is an excellent addition to the cast. She’s done terrific performances in projects such as Black Mirror, Palm Springs, and HBO’s The Penguin. She won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series.
Cline is the latest addition to the cast. She’s still working on the series Outer Banks as Sarah Cameron. The 28-year-old actress also has credits in films such as Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and I Know What You Did Last Summer. She’s also going to collaborate with filmmaker Marc Webb in an upcoming action thriller, Day Drinker, starring alongside Johnny Deep and Penelope Cruz.
Webb is an underrated director. His work consists of 500 Days of Summer and The Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2.
As for Apatow and Powell, their collaboration will be fun to watch. If this movie does sell, they should work together more often. The new untitled comedy movie is set for release on February 5, 2027.
