The Michigan Wolverines dominated the Arizona Wildcats, 91-73, in their Final Four matchup and advanced to the national title game.
The Wolverines will take on the UConn Huskies in the national championship game on Monday. The Wolverines are seeking their first title since 1989. As for the Huskies, they have been here before. Head coach Dan Hurley and the Huskies are looking to win their third title in four years.
It’s going to be a competitive national title game. The Wolveriners were one of the favorites coming into the tournament. They have answered all the questions. As for the Huskies, many doubted their chances of returning to the championship game. It took a miracle comeback and a clutch shot in the Elite Eight against the Duke Blue Devils for everyone to reconsider their options.
The Huskies feel confident and have momentum heading into the title game after defeating Illinois in the Final Four. It’s a Huskies team that has a “never say die” mentality and will scratch and claw to the finish line.
One of the most exciting moments of Saturday’s Final Four was the reunion of the Michigan Fab 5. Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Juwan Howard, Ray Jackson, and Jimmy King were in attendance to support their Alma Mater. It’s the greatest recruiting first-year class ever. The five men changed college basketball with their style of play and their popularity with baggy shorts and long black socks.
As Freshmen and Sophomores, the Fab Five went to two straight national championship games, losing to Duke and North Carolina. The five men hope these new Wolverines can accomplish something that hasn’t been done in 36 years.
