Hollywood actor Danny Glover opens up about his battle with Alzheimer’s disease in an interview with NBC’s Lester Holt.
Glover is a very beloved figure in the industry. Glover has appeared in over 200 films. His career spans decades. One of his best-known film series is the Lethal Weapon series, in which he starred alongside Mel Gibson. He’s also in other classic movies, such as 1985’s The Color Purple, directed by Steven Spielberg.
In this interview, Glover shares his struggles with the disease and reflects on his career. Glover is a person who doesn’t let obstacles get in the way of his profession. Resilience and tenacity are some of his characteristics. When you learn about the life and career of Glover, it’s understandable why he’s been a working actor for so many years. Not everyone can survive being in Hollywood for as long as men like Clint Eastwood, Glover, and many more have. People respect longevity.
Glover received the honorary Oscar in 2022 for his remarkable contributions to the industry. Does Glover fear that he will be losing his memory? This is what the legendary actor had to say.
“I’m sure as it advances, things will be different and changing,” Glover said.
According to NBC’s TODAY show, more than seven million Americans over the age of 65 are living with Alzheimer’s disease, a progressive, fatal neurodegenerative disease. Black men suffer double.
His father surrounded Glover during the interview. One of them was his daughter. She told the reporter that all human beings get old at some point, and what’s important is for her father to share his story.
Glover began acting in his early 20s, and he grew up in San Francisco. It all began when he performed on stage. Glover made the leap from theatre to the film screen. His range and focus as an actor led to him being cast in many roles.
“Places in Her Heart” is Glover’s favorite film of all time.
