Novak Djokovic finds a way to get it done at Wimbledon. The victory has special meaning because he surpasses Roger Federer to become the men’s all-time winningest player at Wimbledon.

Djokovic defeated 28-year-old Roman Safiullin in the fourth round of the Gentlemen’s Singles at Wimbledon on Sunday. It’s his 106th win at Wimbledon. It didn’t come easy.

“Another hard-fought win,” Djokovic said after the match. “Roman started very well. Very aggressive. I didn’t feel so comfortable from the back of the court. I knew it would be a challenge to stay in the rally with him—a very solid player. I respect him a lot. I played him on different surfaces, but never on grass.”

Roman will have a sensational season if he continues to perform the way he did against Djokovic. Novak had to mix things up to get out of trouble and adjust his game. He’s been enjoying this tournament and doing everything he can to survive.

“Our mind wanders all the time,” Djokovic said.

Djokovic had outbursts throughout the match, which he apologized for. One of the things he’s really good at and known for is his intense focus. For any young player who wants to enter any profession, focus and concentration are must-have skills.

For his age, Novak does a great job of taking care of his body. His diet is on point, and he never rests on his laurels. There’s a reason why he’s one of the best in the sport of tennis. The mission continues. Djokovic advances to the quarterfinals to face Felix Auger-Aliassime.

It’s going to be another battle, but Djokovic will rest and be prepared for the match. It should be an entertaining match to watch between two phenomenal players.
