He was known for his antics and made the game of Golf a must-see TV show whenever he was on the golf course. Juan “Chi Chi” Rodriguez died Thursday at 88 years old.

The Puerto Rico senator Carmelo Javier Ríos announced his death.

Rodriguez seemed humble and truly cared about the people. He gave away to charity and had a colorful personality. When an athlete has a fun-loving personality, the fans and the media gravitate towards that person. He made epic celebrations on the golf course.

How did he become so great? When did his Golf journey begin?

Rodriguez said he learned to play gold by hitting tin cans with a guava tree stick and then found work as a caddie. He also claimed that he could shoot a 67 by 12.

It is amazing to learn about Rodriguez and his story. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 through 1957 before joining Golf. Rodriguez turned pro in 1960 and earned his first PGA Tour win at the 1963 Denver Open.

Rodriguez was an eight-time PGA Tour winner and 22-time Champions Tour winner. In 1992, he got inducted into the PGA World Golf Hall of Fame. Rodriguez played 21 years in Golf. Mr. Longevity.
