James Madison demolishes North Carolina Tar Heels, 70-50. The score looks like you’re watching a basketball game instead of a football game because it’s very high-scoring.
By halftime, the Tar Heels were down by 32 points. They committed five turnovers, three lost fumbles, and two interceptions.
The Dukes quarterback, Alanza Barnett III, threw for 388 yards and five touchdowns. Wide receiver Omarion Dillion caught three passes for 125 yards and a touchdown. The Dukes were 12.5-point underdogs for this matchup.
JMU will take on Ball State next Saturday. North Carolina will take on their ACC rival, Duke.
Rice vs. Army
The Army Black Knights dominated Rice all game long. By halftime, they had a comfortable 28-0 lead. The Black Knights won this game 37-14.
The Black Knights have won seven in a row since last season. This team could be American Athletic Conference champions if their quarterback, Bryson Daily, continues to perform the way he’s performing this season.
Daily ran for three touchdowns and threw for two touchdowns – responsible for five touchdowns. Daily recorded 207 of the Army’s 272 offensive yards in the opening half.
Army will travel to Philadelphia to take on Temple Owls next Thursday at 7:30 pm.
Memphis vs Navy
Navy defeated Memphis 56-44. It was a back-and-forth scoring battle in the first half. Anytime Memphis would score, the Navy would have an answer for them.
The game’s best highlight came when Navy quarterback Blake Horvath rushed for a significant gain late in the third quarter with less than a minute to go.
Horvath finished with 9-of-11 completions for 192 pass yards and two touchdowns. In addition, he rushed for 211 yards with four touchdowns. He had a total of six touchdowns in the game.
Memphis Tigers running back Mario Anderson Jr rushed for 117 yards on 17 carries with three touchdowns. His longest run was for 37 yards.
