Singer Harry Styles kicked off Opening Night in a classy and respectful way. We recently lost Dolly Parton. Her death sent shockwaves throughout the music industry.
Styles made sure that on the first day of his 3-day tour, he honored Parton at Madison Square Garden in NYC, part of his global “Together, Together” tour.
“I just wanna give a proper thank you to all the musicians who have inspired me over the years,” Styles said during his performance to the fans. “Dolly, we love you. Thank you so much.”
Styles sold out 30 of his shows on his Together Together tour. This shows how huge his fanbase is. Many well-known names were in attendance, such as actress Drew Barrymore and journalist Gayle King. Barrymore and King sang Parton’s classic songs.
Other artists were also saddened by her death, such as Beyoncé and Miley Cyrus, whom Parton is their godmother.
Styles rose to fame after being a member of the boy band One Direction. He has blossomed into a massive star as a solo artist. It’s almost similar to Justin Timberlake and NSYNC in that Styles, just like Timberlake, is the youngest one from the band.
The tour started running in May and will conclude in December. Aside from staying in New York City for 30 days, other stops on the tour include Amsterdam, London, and Sydney. Harry’s House was a No. 1 album in his native U.K. and became certified platinum in the U.S.
Styles has done previous tours such as Love On Tour. Styles succeeded in this tour by performing 173 shows and grossed over $600 million.
