Cincinnati Reds falls to the Milwaukee Brewers 8-2 on Sunday. The Reds loses the weekend series by losing three of the four games on the road. This season, the Reds are now 3-7 (1-3 on the road).

Brewers left fielder Jonathan Churio caused the Reds to have a lot of trouble with pitching. The 21-year-old belted two home runs with 5 RBIs. Second baseman Bryce Turang also had the hot bat. He finished going 2-for-4 with two hits and scored two runs. The Brewers scored five of their eight runs in the fourth inning.

Carson Spiers started the game for the Reds. Spiers didn’t have his best stuff against the Brewers. He picked up the loss after giving up four earned runs and five hits through three innings of outing.

Spencer Steer, the designated hitter, put the Reds on the board in the top of the fifth inning with a solo home run. It’s Steer’s first home run of the season. Centerfielder TJ Friedl added the team’s second run of the game at the top of the eighth inning with a single-to-center field.

The Reds’ offense couldn’t get anything going, especially from their best hitters. Shortstop Elly De La Cruz went 1-for-4 with a hit and three strikeouts. Third baseman Jeimer Candelario went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. First baseman Christian Encarnacion-Strand went 1-for-4 with a hit and two strikeouts.

The Reds’ defense struggled in this game. The outfielders mistimed the ball and failed to catch some diving plays. In the infield, second baseman Santiago Espinal made a nice playing play to get the runner out at first to end the third inning.

The Reds will head to the Bay Area to begin a three-game series against the San Francisco Giants. Hunter Greene will take the mound against Logan Webb—the battle between two aces. The first pitch starts at 9:40 pm EST. Greene is seeking for his first win of the season.
