Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero clobbered a massive grand slam in the 9th inning to lift the Rays to an 11-9 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday.

Before this at-bat, Caminero was 0 for 4. Talk about coming through at the right time when things weren’t going well. The Rays scored five runs in the ninth inning.

Edwin Uceta got the win for the Rays. Uceta gave up three earned runs and had one strikeout in one inning. Mason Montgomery earned the save. Rays starter Shane Baz finished the night with six strikeouts and gave up three earned runs in four pitched innings.

Brandon Lowe had two RBIs, which came in the third inning. First baseman Jonathan Aranda hit a two-run home run in the third inning, and the Rays scored four runs in the third.

Danny Jansen also had a home run in the game, which came in the seventh inning. Jansen, a former Blue Jays, extends his on-base streak to 18 games.

The Rays improved to 19-22. The Rays have won eight of their last nine away games.

On Wednesday, Ryan Pepiot (2-4, 3.86 ERA) will take the Mount for the Rays against the Blue Jays’ Chris Bassitt (3-2, 3.35).
