Microsoft struck a multiyear deal to get cloud computing power from Nebius, the tech company spun out from Russian internet giant Yandex.

The deal, worth up to $20 billion, is a considerable move and risk that Microfosy is taking.

Is this a good or bad choice by Microsoft? In a few years, we would have to see if these decisions would pay off dividends.

Yandex has existed since 1997, when it began in Russia. The company has over 35,000 employees and has been compared to Google.

Yandex has done some outstanding work, especially when the company unveiled TaBM this summer.

What is TaBM?

According to the company’s website, TaBM effectively implements a model ensemble approach. The TabM architecture allows for an optimal balance between forecast accuracy and efficient use of computing resources.

Arkady Volozh is the founder and CEO of Yandex, an AI cloud computing company known as Nebius Group. Volozh has worn many hats, including investor, philanthropist, computer scientist, tech entrepreneur, and more.

The 61-year-old has been enjoying success through hard work for several decades, and this partnership with Microsoft could change the game for him and the team.
