Alexandra Eala wins the Gold Medal at the SEA Games—the first Filipina to win a Gold medal in tennis since 1999.

The 20-year-old talented tennis player is gaining so much momentum. She captured the medal by scoring a 6-1, 6-2 win over world No. 240 Mananchaya Sawangkaew in the finals. The event took place in Bangkok on Thursday.

It’s another remarkable accomplishment for her. Eala is following the path of other tennis players who came before her, such as Pia Tamayo and Maricris Fernandez. Eala winning the Southeast Asian Games gold medal is a feel-good story for the sport of Tennis. She’s a fearless competitor and always well-prepared. We can only imagine how good she will be in the next five years if she keeps this run going and stays healthy.

One of the most emotional moments of the event was when Eala ran into her parents. After her win, she shared the moment with them by hugging. It’s a scene we will never forget. God bless all the parents in the world who support their children in their success. We need to see more examples of this going forward.
