Anytime we learn about the history of Space can be a fulfilling experience. If you took a course about Space in either high school or college, then you don’t know how blessed you are. Science is not for everyone. Talking about Space is not for everyone. Pluto is one of the most common names that we have heard about our entire lives. It has been around since 1930.
The solar system has nine planets, and Pluto is the ninth and final one. Since 2006, the International Astronomical Union has recognized Pluto as a dwarf planet. We are sure that when the news broke, not many people were blown away by the changes. When an organization or company makes changes, it can throw some people off, while others applaud the decision. You can’t please everyone. One thing is for sure: we have to adapt to change, whether we like it or not.
Pluto’s temperature is freezing. It’s no secret how freezing it can be, especially when it’s farther from the Sun. Many humans don’t like the cold, and we certainly can’t blame them. The temperature is about 400 degrees below zero Fahrenheit. That’s right. Pluto is no joke.
What are the five moons of Pluto?
For some people, it might be an easy answer, but some people don’t have a clue about everything that comes with the package of Pluto. The planet has five moons: Charon, Ceres, Eris, Haumea, and Makemake. The largest moon of them all is Charon. Pluto is small, about 1,400 miles wide. Pluto and Charon are known as the “double planet” or “double dwarf planet.” One reason is that Pluto and Charon form a binary system. Both of them have similar masses and a close orbit.
Pluto is 3.7 billion miles away from the Sun, and it’s also known as the “King of the Kuiper Belt.”
Sun, moon, skies, planets, and much more are exciting topics to talk about and learn more about through research and reading books. If you haven’t taken an Astronomy class or read any Space books, especially about Elon Musk, then consider it.
