Princeton made the Columbia Lions pay the price as they took care of business of the road winning 14-9. This is Columbia’s home game finale.
Princeton always maintain an edge over the Lions throughout the game. In the first half, they jumped to a 5-1 lead in which became the biggest lead of the half. Four answered points by Princeton. However, the Lions would not back down to the challenge. They would score two goals in the middle of the half. Lions fans kept them alive in the game and their mental toughness refused to give up. Unfortunately, no matter how much the Lions try to come back, Princeton always had an answer for them. Princeton increased their lead back to four, 7-3. Taylor Quinn would score two more goals for the Lions in the last two minutes as they went into half time trailing Princeton, 7-5.
You can say it was more of an exchange of two goals between both Princeton and Columbia. Princeton had eight saves on defense in the first half.
In the second half, the Lions didn’t have much of a chance against Princeton. They scored four quick goals to start the half, which became the biggest lead of the game, 11-5. Princeton would never look back. Columbia answered with a grinding four-goal run of its own through 13 minutes of play, but that wouldn’t be enough to surpass Princeton.
The Lions fall to 6-8 (1-5 ivy league).
