“Every bite should be indulging.” A quote from the talented Pastry Chef, Melissa Medina.
Melissa Medina is a Dominican-American CEO/Head Baker/Designer. She was born and raised in Washington Heights, which is in Upper Manhattan in New York. Her love, drive, and passion began in 2018. Melissa started feeling more confident about her work after receiving positive feedback and support from people, which filled her heart with joy. That’s when reality struck her. She discovered a talent.
“In 2018, I started baking for fun, and the feedback I got from people was amazing,” Medina says. “But it wasn’t until I became a mother again for the second time where I decided that I want to raise my daughters while continuing to build a business.”
Melissa is currently living with her fiancée, Marcos, and together they have two girls: Hazel and Brielle. Motherhood has blessed Melissa and motivated her to achieve great things.
Melissa has showcased her creativity not only on social media platforms but also in events.
“Recently, I was part of an event for Cheddy Garcia at Casa Bella Events, located in the Bronx,” Medina explained. “She is a famous Dominican Comedian. Since she was launching her new hairline product, I donated bite size desserts to showcase at her event.”

”After graduation, I might take other courses to gain more knowledge in other areas,” Medina says.
What are other areas that interest Melissa Medina? Well, this is what she had to say.
“If it weren’t for this, I would’ve continued to go to school and get my BA in Psychology and proceed to get my Masters in counseling to become a guidance counselor.”
Family is vital to Melissa. Her mother continually tells Melissa to continue to work hard and never give up.
“I have the talent and creativity; therefore, I should keep pushing through,” Medina says. “My family is my biggest support system! My parents, siblings, and fiancée have been amazing through this experience and are always uplifting me and encouraging me to continue to grow.”
There are several well-known Pastry Chefs like Claire Saffitz. She’s a young Pastry Chef who has made a name for herself and has a YouTube channel. Melissa is on the rise to become known one of these days. Melissa is considering starting her own YouTube channel in the future.
