Reggie Bush, Miami Heat, Clark’s Nike Deal

by Miguel Mike Medina

This should’ve never happened but I’m glad people are doing right by him. Former running back Reggie Bush has his 2005 Heisman Trophy back. Yes, indeed. The award is back where it belongs. The Heisman Trust’s decision comes after Bush forfeited his Heisman Trophy in 2010 in the wake of significant NCAA sanctions for USC. which happened from 2003 to 2005 during Reggie’s tenure at USC. Bush will again be invited to all future Heisman Trophy ceremonies, beginning in the 2024 season. Bush is only one of four players to win the Heisman Trophy, win the national title, and win a Super Bowl, joining Marcus Allen, Charles Woodson, and Tony Dorsett.

Miami Heat even the series against the Boston Celtics. Tyler Herro had 24 points and 14 assists, hitting six of Miami’s 23 3-pointers — the most in a playoff game in franchise history — to lead the Heat to a 111-101 victory. When it comes to the playoffs, Miami is a team you don’t want to underestimate. It doesn’t matter what their record or seeding number is, they will compete and can be an irritating team to any opponent. The rivalry and competition between Miami and Boston go way back to 2011 during the Big 3 era of Pierce, Garnett, and Allen and Miami’s Lebron, Wade, and Bosh.

Russ Cochran will make his first PGA Tour start in over a decade at this week’s Zurich Classic in New Orleans. Cochran is a 65-year-old golfer and has won the PGA Tour one time. His last top-10 on the senior circuit came in 2018.

Caitlin Clark continues to be blessed in many ways. She has broken records and made women’s basketball must-see TV. Lately, she’s on the verge of having her own sneaker with Nike. Clark and Nike are about to agree to a deal that’s worth $28 million for at least eight years. She’s going to receive more jealousy and hate which is ridiculous. I hope Clark becomes a great player in the WNBA and continues to do the right thing by playing the game well, winning, and not getting involved in politics. Clark should stand her ground and ignore social media’s ridiculousness. Her rookie season will be tested. This is going to be a great challenge for Clark to see how she will handle being in the pros.
