How can we ever forget about Lil Mo? Incredible artist. Lil Mo, in my opinion, is the “Queen of Hooks.” In the early 2000s, no one could do it better than her. She made several songs much better with her hooks. Her talent and voice is undeniable. I’m not sure what she’s up to nowadays, but that woman can sing. Every collaboration she made with rapper Fabolous was gold.
When I think about Lil Mo’s contribution to R&B/Hip Hop, I think of many hit songs such as Hot Boyz (remix), Ja Rule’s Put it On Me, Angie Martinez’s ‘If I Can’t Go With You,’ and many more. Put It On Me and If I Can’t Go With You are two of my favorites that feature Lil Mo. With her talent, she should’ve released more successful albums. Her 2001 debut album Based on a True Story, was solid but it could’ve been much better. However, I do like her single “Superwoman” featuring Fabolous.
Regardless, I’m a fan of Lil Mo’s work and respect her talent. I need to find out what she’s currently working on or about to work. She deserves her flowers.
