UNC Tar Heels dominated the Miami Hurricanes with a 92-73 victory on Saturday in Chapel Hill at Dean Smith Arena.

The Tar Heels improve to 19-11. They have won five in a row. Six Tar Heels had double figures. Ven-Allen Lubin led the team in scoring with 19 points, including shooting 9 of 10 from the field.

“Just all glory to God,” Lubin said. “Continue to go in him. Have faith in his plans for me, this season, and the future.”

Jae’lyn Withers had another impressive game for Carolina. Withers finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

“It’s all or nothing,” Withers told the media. “We’re putting everything on the line, playing as hard as we can, being as confident as we can.”

Drake Powell continues to be effective for Carolina during their winning streak. He added 16 points and six rebounds.

After the Tar Heels were up 31-27 in the first half, Coach Hubert Davis called a timeout. He then gave his team the business. He was hard on them, especially defensively.

After that timeout, the team played entirely differently. It’s rare to see Davis fired out in the game, but it worked out.

The Tar Heels controlled the paint, had exceptional hall movement, and shot 55 percent from the three-point range. The Hurricanes are not a good defensive team, and the Tar Heels made them pay big time.

The Tar Heels’ performance was almost similar to that of the game against the Florida State Seminoles. Carolina outrebounded the Hurricanes 38 to 26.

UNC is looking to win its sixth consecutive game as it prepares to take on the Pittsburgh Panthers. It’s another must-win game for the Tar Heels.
