The Tampa Bay Rays erupted for nine runs in the third inning to beat Boston Red Sox, the AL East division rival, 16-1.
The Rays offense was clicking. It’s their best offensive performance of the season. Rays center fielder Kameron Misner went 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs. Yandy Diaz and Junior Caminero added home runs for the team—six Rays hitters collected at least two RBIs.
Rays starter Shane Baz was sensational. Baz recorded 11 strikeouts and gave up just one earned run through six innings. Baz improves to 2-0 with a 1.42 ERA.
The Rays are in the .500 mark with an 8-8 record. Ryan Pepiot will take the mound for the Rays against Red Sox’s Walker Buehler. The first pitch begins at 7:05 pm.
