Yankees Crush Rays: A Night of Historic Homers

By Miguel Mike Medina

The Tampa Bay Rays were demolished by the New York Yankees 13-3 on Tuesday night.

Shane Baz got in trouble early in the game. He gave up three home runs in the first inning to Aaron Judge, Cody Bellinger, and Giancarlo Stanton. Baz pitched just three innings, giving up seven hits, six earned runs, and three strikeouts.

Baz entered this game, giving up 21 homers this season. He gave up six home runs to the Yankees. The interesting fact about Baz is that this is his first full season as a starter. It’s his fourth year overall in the big leagues.

Baz is an outstanding pitcher. It’s just that this season hasn’t worked out for them. We will see how he will bounce back for next season. He needs to use his changeup more often.

It was an embarrassing performance from the Rays’ pitching. The Rays couldn’t hold the Yankees’ offense down.

Stanton would homer twice in this game. He connected for four RBIs for the night. Bellinger also hits his second home run of the night. The Yankees connected on nine home runs for the night, which tied a franchise record from March 2025 against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Jose Caballero, a former Ray, also went deep twice in this game. What a way to respond to your former team. The Rays beat themselves.

They had chances offensively. Jake Magnum was their best hitter, going 2-for-4, but their inconsistency continues to pile up. After the first inning, the game was over for the Rays.

Drew Rasmussen (10-5, 2.60 ERA) starts Wednesday against Yankees rookie Cam Schlittler (1–2, 3.94).
