Miami Heat captain Bam Adebayo showed signs of a superhero on Tuesday night as he lifted the Heat to a 127-121 victory over the Phoenix Suns.

Adebayo had the best game of the season from a three-point shooting standpoint. He finished the night with 29 points and made four threes. Some of these threes came down the stretch in the fourth quarter. Norman Powell added 27 points. Jaime Jaquez Jr dropped 16 points.

Adebayo, Powell, and Jaquez Jr were the stars who put the Heat in the best position to thrive in the last three minutes of the game. Jaquez made the right passes to Bam and Norman for them to knock down threes. In addition, Jaquez got a crucial offensive rebound, which gave Miami a second chance at points late in the game.

The Heat played well in the first half. By halftime, the team had a comfortable lead. Miami led as many as 20. It all changed in the third quarter when the Suns began to rally. Phoenix outscored Miami 38-21 in the third. The Suns continue to pound from downtown.

Dillon Brooks, Grayson Allen, Mark Williams, and Collin Gillespie were huge for the Suns during that comeback. It wasn’t just Devin Booker. The Suns are a dangerous team when the role players get going. Booker finished with 24 points. Brooks and Allen led the team with 25. Williams added 18. Gillespie added 13. The Suns made 14 threes. Miami made 13.

The Suns almost escalated with a victory. Miami’s captain had other thoughts and put the team on his back when it mattered most. Can he keep it up? That’s the question, because Adebayo has been streaky this season. People want to see this version of Bam every night.

Miami will play the Boston Celtics on Thursday night at 7:30. When those two teams collide, it’s must-see TV.
