Ryan Gosling is no longer attached to Universal’s untitled project directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert.
We are not sure what Gosling’s motive was for backing out. At first, Gosling was very intrigued by the script. The directors will have to pivot and find other takers to fill the void in the cast. The film is set to hit the theaters in November 2027. There’s still more work to be done.
Kwan and Scheinert are known as Daniels. The duo has worked on numerous movies and music videos as filmmakers and writers. are a duo of film directors and writers. The Daniels wrote and directed Swiss Army Man, which came out in 2016. The duo achieved massive success with the science-fiction action-comedy Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022). The movie made some noise during Oscar season and became A24’s highest-grossing film of all time.
Given their track record, their new project could be a success. They are proving, so far in their career, that they can maintain a consistent script and tell a good story through the lens.
As for Gosling, he’s having a big year so far. He’s starring in the Sci-fi movie Project Hail Mary, which is dominating the box office. Project Hail Mary is Gosling’s highest-rated movie. Project Hail Mary has generated over $300 million in global revenue. That’s gold for Amazon, MGM Studios, and every single member of the project.
Gosling knows how to pick good scripts, whether it’s independent or major studio productions; he’s been part of some good films. Any actor needs to know how to read a good script when they receive one through the mail. It’s a key factor in achieving success as an artist.
Aside from Project Hail Mary, Gosling is starring and executive producing Star Wars: Starfighter, which is scheduled to release in May 2027.
