Grown Ups 3 will happen, and it’s currently in the works. Adam Sandler and the gang will return for the trilogy.
13 years after the sequel, Sandler and the entire team felt it was time to make a comeback and give the loyal fanbase something to laugh and cheer about. Sandler will be on board to write the script with Tim Herlihy.
Grown Ups is about five lifelong friends who reunite and try to reconnect as they experience many things, including family life, careers, and personal lives. It’s a movie that can resonate with many people in the world.
Netflix will be streaming the third movie. Although there hasn’t been any announcement about how the cast will look, it’s reasonable to expect the main cast to return for the third movie. The interesting part will be the supporting cast and who will make cameo appearances.
The first movie, which Sandler co-wrote with Fred Wolf, came out in 2010 and grossed $272 million at the box office on a $75 million budget. The movie didn’t get great reviews, but it was a summer box-office success and a perfect entry for the week of the 4th of July. Salma Hayek and Maya Rudolph played solid supporting roles in the first one.
Hayek, Rudolph, and Mario Bello all returned for the sequel. Grown Ups 2 premiered on July 12, 2013, and grossed $247 million at the box office on a $80 million budget. Dennis Dugan directed both films.
Sandler has a system of friends and collaborators he always works with in his projects. Sandler is the founder of Happy Madison Productions. Sandler and Dugan have worked together on nine films, whether Sandler was the lead actor or the producer.
Jack Giarraputo, co-founder of Happy Madison, has worked with Sandker since Billy Madison, which came out in 1995.
