“Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is dominating the box office this weekend. The movie opened, making $927 million globally. It’s the second best ever for the motion picture industry, behind Avengers: Endgame.

However, Brand New Day beat out Endgame in North America. Brand New Day has the record for the biggest North American opening weekend with $360 million in ticket sales.

Brand New Day stars Tom Holland and Zendaya. For many Spider-Man fans, these numbers don’t come as a surprise. Heavy marketing, top-notch cast, and it’s Spider-Man overall. One of the most famous superheroes on the planet. Stan Lee must be smiling looking down from the sky with these box office numbers.

Aside from the movie posting staggering numbers, there’s another big news item that’s worth mentioning. Spider-Man: Brand New Day will have an IMAX release on Aug 7. The tickets will go on sale on Tuesday. Some movies deserve an IMAX release, and Spider-Man is one of them. Everyone in the cast and crew should be proud of this accomplishment.

The Odyssey and Toy Story 5 came in second and third at the box office for this weekend. It all belongs to Brand New Day as the movie continues to break records, especially with the previous Spider-Man films such as No Way Home.

People who work in movie theaters must have been extremely busy. That’s a lot of people who went to the theaters to see the new movie. This is the busiest they have worked at a movie theater. Going to the movie theaters to see an anticipated film beats out streaming services any day of the week.

We can only imagine what the next two weeks will be like, knowing how much momentum Brand New Day is riding right now with box office success.
