Auburn will be searching for a new athletic director. The school announced Friday that Allen Greene has decided to step away from his role as AD “to pursue other professional interests.” Auburn University and Greene parting ways have long been expected, with Greene’s contract expiring on Jan. 31, 2023.

The Seattle Seahawks have decided which quarterback will be the Week 1 starter on Sept. 12 against former Seahawks QB and now Broncos QB Russell Wilson. Geno Smith will be the starter for Week 1. Smith signed with Seattle in 2019, backed up Wilson for three seasons, and re-signed in April on a one-year, $3.5 million deal. He has a 13-21 career record as a starter
