Ashley Nicole’s Upcoming Horror Film, ‘Man Eater’

Ashley Nicole is an indie filmmaker/ film director from Harlingen, Texas; she first started making films back in 2019 during her first year of college and has since then continued working on other projects as well. She’s directed 16 short films and counting. Now, Ashley is planning to release her new upcoming project, Man Eater. Here’s more on Ashley as she shares with us her latest project and her thoughts on the Horror genre.

Tell us what “Man Eater” is all about.

Ashley: Well, basically, Man Eater is about a woman who, after eating tainted meat from a burger place, starts to turn into a Cannibalistic being/ Zombie. And the main focus is on how she slowly begins to lose her sanity as this process occurs.

How did you come up with the title’s name, and why did you name it?

Ashley: I can come up with the title from the song with the same name, “Man Eater” by Daryl Hall and John Oates” it’s far different from the music, of course, it’s just a way of saying she eats people since that’s the only thing that satisfies her extreme hunger, now that she’s a zombie.

Is horror your favorite movie genre? If so, what gravitates you to continue making horror shorts?

Ashley: Horror is my favorite genre! What gravitates me towards it is just the fact of how bonkers you go with this genre. You can make it very gory, terrifying, or just fun. And the fact that we’re able to mix comedy and horror makes it even more fun to work with.

What was the writing process like?

Ashley: The writing process was pretty easy since I already knew what I wanted it to look like. I write my shorts using storyboards since I’m not good at writing scripts.

Where and when can we see the movie?

Ashley: As of right now, I haven’t started filming since I’m still getting everything together. But you can expect it to be out in October since that’s the Halloween season, and you’ll be able to watch it from my website
