Bryson DeChambeau has done it. He captured his second US Open championship by defeating Rory Mcllroy. It was an epic battle between DeChambeau and Rory. This was a tough loss for Rory because he had so much momentum. Bryson took advantage of Rory missing a 4-foot putt for par. About two years ago, DeChambeau was disliked by the fans for leaving the PGA Tour to go to LIV Golf. As of this weekend, he has become a beloved figure in Golf. This was a feel-good victory for Bryson. A huge turnaround and now has the potential to achieve more greatness. Rory hasn’t won a Major since 2014.
NASCAR driver Ryan Blaney won the Cup Race at Iowa last night. It was his first win of the season and 11th overall of his career. This is a big win for Blaney and Team Penske. Blaney now has won at Iowa Speedway in all three NASCAR national series. He is now a lock for the playoffs. He moves up to No. 6 in the playoff standings.
The New York Mets swept the San Diego Padres this weekend at Citi Field. The Mets scored 18 runs throughout the three-game series and now have won five games in a row. The last time the Mets swept the Padres was back in 2006 at Shea Stadium. Their lineups consisted of Jose Reyes, Endy Chavez, David Wright, Carlos Delgado, Jose Valentin, Michael Tucker, Ricky Ledee, etc.
